28th Annual Mary S. Oakley & Lee Lindsay Artist Showcase

Enjoy our most popular annual exhibit featuring new artwork by local artists. This is a wonderful opportunity to support artists and the Art Center by purchasing original artworks to enjoy in your home or business.  This exhibit will be on display at Quincy Art Center, located at 1515 Jersey St in Quincy, IL. The Art Center’s exhibits are FREE and open to the public Wednesday – Saturday from 11 AM – 6 PM and by appointment by calling 217-223-5900.  Generous sponsorship for this exhibit has been provided by the Oakley and Lindsay families, and the Illinois Arts Council.

Opening Reception: Friday, November 18 from 7 PM – 9 PM. This event is FREE and open to the public. This will be the first chance for the community to see the pieces selected for this exhibit. Award winners will be announced at 7:30 PM. Light bites will be provided and drinks by HyVee and drinks will be sold by Pointe D’Vine.

Submission for this Artist Showcase was open to artists 18 years of age and older living within a 50-mile radius of Quincy. A total of 100 works of art were selected from those submitted for the Artist Showcase.  A professional from outside the eligible region with expertise in the visual arts was selected to choose the work for exhibition and awards. The staff and board of the Art Center are never involved in the selection process. The juror for the 2022 Mary S. Oakley & Lee Lindsay Artist Showcase was Janie Stamm, a St. Louis-based artist and MFA recipient from Washington University.
