QCT Collaboration: Impressions of Yesterday

Impressions of Yesterday Preview

Saturday,  April 21, 2018

10:30 am - 11:20 am and 12:30 pm - 1:20 pm

The public is invited to preview the Quincy Community Theatre's Impressions of Yesterday Preview which is part of the theatre’s “QCT on the Road” program.  Impressions of Yesterday  explores the Impressionist Movement through the eyes of two young girls—Lauren and Sarah. When their mother purchases an old trunk filled with junk at auction, the pair receive more than they bargain for. While their mother is away, artists and innovators from the Impressionist Movement pop out of the trunk! Mary Cassatt, Thomas Edison, and others teach the girls—and the audience—that inspiration is everywhere.

Every year, QCT on the Road brings a full production to schools, libraries, and community facilities to provide an educational and theatrical experience for students throughout the Tri-State area. This year’s production will be experienced by over 2000 students at schools and libraries throughout Illinois and Missouri.

The tour will also feature a study guide created in collaboration with Quincy Art Center to provide students with additional information about the historical figures portrayed on stage.
